I will start with the introduction. My name is Virag and my father-in-law's name is Harish Goda. What he has done to me is visible at My Story. As it will be evident from the link, Harish Goda has left no stone unturned in ruining Virag in order to satiate his greed and has misused all the available "Women Protection Laws" at the behest of his daughter (my wife). Harish Goda wanted to usurp my property and when he could not succeed in that, he set the system against me.

However, I refused to bend down and took up the challenge but the fight isn't easy. Seeing me fighting, seeing a husband talking of his rights, it was not acceptable to the society that, in turn, tried to discourage me from fighting by applying some sort of a sympathetic balm on my wounds - Yes, we know Harish Goda is wrong, but why don't you just settle the matter with him?

Before answering them, I questioned them,

1.    How many Virags are going to be sacrificed in order to satiate the greed of the Harish Godas?

2.    Why should a Virag compromise his values and principles merely because the system is not able to contain the Harish Godas?

3.    When the society accepts what Harish Goda did was wrong, then why expect Virag to solve the problem at the cost of his own life?

4.    Was Harish Goda alone enough and capable to do to Virag what he did?

5.    Has not the system enabled wrong people like Harish Goda to be unleashed on harmless people like Virag?

These questions perturbed them and the society laid back. Virag's fight is still on and will continue till Virag gets justice. However, the moot question here is - Well knowing the fact that the system has wrongly enabled people like Harish Goda to play havoc with the lives of Virags, why is the society uncomfortable with Virag taking a stand against the system?

Has anyone thought why?

The answer is very simple. Heart-in-heart, everyone wants the system to continue like this - Harish Godas crushing Virags and occasionally applying balms on exceptional Virags who somehow survive the crushing.

It isn't enough merely to blame the system. This system wasn't handed over to us by Martians! This system has been envisaged, conceptualized, designed and executed by people like us - You and Me - and it is people like us only - You and me - who have to take a stand.

And the stand that needs to be taken is a stand against corruption - corruption of truth, corruption of human values and corruption of human rights. Corruption ain't only that small peck of bribe given to the opportunistic Govt. Servant or some crores of scam that an opportunistic politician/bureaucrat does out of public money. Corruption is much far deeper than that.

1.    Corruption is also allowing corruption to grow.

2.    Corruption is also enabling Harish Godas against harmless Virags.

3.    Corruption is also expecting Virags to compromise on their stand merely because it looks difficult to contain the Harish Godas.

4.    Corruption is also not to challenge the corrupt system merely because some day we might also have to use it.

5.    And last, but not the least - Corruption is also the failure to recognize the fact that these so called politicians/bureaucrats/judiciary etc. are Common Citizens of India before holding any of the fancy posts.

In the end, it's the Common Citizen of India that's corrupt and that's what the root cause of corruption is. If we need to contain the Harish Godas, we have to contain corruption, we have to contain ourselves.

If you feel there shouldn't be any more Virags, ensure there are no more Harish Godas. Well, its remains a question as of now - who wins the war - Virag or Harish Goda?

Having said that, something we all need to think is - Is this acceptable?

PS: The system referred to, here, comprises of politicians, lawmakers, bureaucrats, police, lawyers, judges, social activists, corporates, media and the common citizens of India.
